Oxiteno, leader in the production of surfactants and specialty chemicals in the Americas, has just launched its 2020 Sustainability Report. Completely digital, the publication highlights the company's main ESG practices.
Despite the challenging scenario caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the company ended 2020 with net revenue of R $ 5.22 billion, the best performance in the last five years and with a 22% growth compared to the previous year. Other highlights are: female representation in the governing body (57%); the structuring of a digital laboratory (XLab) and the establishment of a partnership with EcoVadis to assess its suppliers on the main sustainability issues.
“The pandemic has had unprecedented impacts. In the industry, the scenario of crisis and economic instability led to a review of goals and priorities. One of Oxiteno's main challenges has been to ensure the preservation of employees' health and operational continuity. Oxiteno's products are essential raw materials for the production of drugs, hygiene and sanitatization products, among others. In this adverse scenario, we place sustainability as a central and strategic element. ”, says Oxiteno's president, João Parolin, who also points out initiatives such as Diversity and Inclusion, with the Togheter program.
Oxiteno's portfolio serves the Crop Solutions, Home Care and I&I, Personal Care, Coatings, Oil & Gas, Industrial Applications, Functional Fluids and Nutrition & Health segments, which are exported to more than 50 countries.
